About Me
As a midwife, I have been honored to witness the tenderness and the triumph that the birth process can bring to a family when birthing women are given respectful support for their choices. I believe that women know themselves and their bodies better than anyone else. It is my deep desire to serve women and their growing families during this important time.
I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the MEAC accredited Midwives College of Utah and then received my Texas midwifery license after apprenticing with several incredible mentors in the Dallas area as well as in Washington and Idaho. After practicing in Texas for almost 6 years, I moved with my family to Colorado, where Singing Tree Midwifery is now accepting new clients at our Longmont prenatal office. I also have bachelor's and master's degrees in business management, but my daily life revolves around motherhood, babies, pregnancy, childbirth, and building stronger communities for women and their families. I cherish working with clients from all faiths, cultures, and backgrounds. I have three teenage boys, two cats, two dogs, and a very patient husband.
How I Practice |
My primary concern will always be the safety and well-being of you and your baby. The majority of childbirths don't require medical intervention, but I am trained to recognize situations that fall outside of normal. I don't hesitate to consult, refer or transfer care if needed. I see your care as a joint effort between me, as your knowledgeable and respectful midwife, and you, as an informed, intelligent, and intuitive woman.
Pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting are all physical, emotional, and spiritual experiences. Part of my work is to support you as you navigate this journey. I provide resources, listen to you, get to know your unique needs, and celebrate with you the sacredness of the birth of a new baby, a new mother, and a new family. I take care of both you and your baby for the first six precious weeks postpartum. |
Team-work |
I attend births with a trusted and skilled assistant who is also a registered midwife trained in CPR and neonatal resuscitation. We can discuss your desires prenatally regarding those who attend your home birth to ensure the fit is comfortable. I am fortunate to be part of a fantastic community of registered midwives, so you will always have a team of trusted providers. We bring all the equipment necessary for emergencies, and we continually update our knowledge and skills through classes, conferences, and workshops.
